Visegrad Scholarship Program 2027

Overview

The Visegrad Scholarship Program funds Master’s and post-Master’s students and researchers to study or do research abroad for one or two semesters in Central and Eastern Europe. It is run by the International Visegrad Fund and works in two directions. Applicants from Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia can go to another Visegrad country or to an Eastern Partnership or Western Balkans country, while applicants from the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkans countries study in a Visegrad country. The scholar receives EUR 3,500 per semester and the host institution receives EUR 2,000 per semester. For the full list of benefits, see what the scholarship covers.

What to know before applying

You must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, and the support is for full-time study or research. Your citizenship must differ from the country of your host institution, and your current employer, university or permanent residence must be more than 150 km from it. You can study in any language, but your documents must be in English or come with a translation.

Master’s applicants upload a valid ID, a transcript covering at least the last two completed semesters (or a diploma supplement) and a letter of acceptance from the host university, or proof that you applied. Post-Master’s applicants upload a valid ID and a letter of acceptance with a detailed working plan. Applications are submitted online through the official application page.

If you want a full degree in Hungary instead, see the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. Researchers at an early career stage can also look at the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, or browse all scholarships in Hungary and Master’s scholarships
