ScholarshipSpace is a free scholarship database focused on opening doors to global education for African students and other underrepresented learners. We curate, verify, and publish detailed information about fully funded, partially funded, and need-based scholarships available worldwide from undergraduate awards to PhD and research fellowships.
Our Mission
Every year, billions of dollars in scholarship funding goes unclaimed because students never hear about it or because the information they find is scattered, outdated, or unclear. We exist to close that gap. Our goal is simple: every African student with the academic ability and ambition to study abroad should be able to find a fully funded scholarship that fits them, in one place, with all the information they need to apply confidently.
What Makes Us Different
We don’t just list scholarships, we structure them. Every scholarship on ScholarshipSpace is documented across 37 detailed categories covering eligibility, funding coverage, language requirements, application deadlines, required documents, and bond obligations. That means when you read about a scholarship on our site, you get the full picture in one place, not a vague summary that sends you scrambling across five external links to find the basics.
We also focus on verification. Each scholarship listing carries a ‘last verified date‘ so you know how recent our information is, and we always link to the official awarding body so you can cross-check before applying.
Who Runs ScholarshipSpace
ScholarshipSpace is an independent project founded and operated by McGit, a Psychology graduate, currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Data and Information Science. McGit has a background in civic technology including co-founding DonateWater along with experience in WASH research, SDG-aligned initiatives, and EU-funded consortium collaborations.
The project is built on the belief that information access is itself a form of equity. Most pan-African students don’t have access to dedicated scholarship advisors the way students in Western countries do, and we believe a well-structured, freely available database can help fill that gap.
Our Editorial Standards
We commit to:
(1) only publishing scholarships from verified awarding bodies,
(2) linking to the official application portal of every scholarship we list,
(3) flagging the verification date on every record, and
(4) correcting any error promptly when reported. We don’t accept payment from scholarship providers to feature listings, and we don’t sell preferential placement.
How We Sustain the Site
ScholarshipSpace is funded through display advertising from third-party ad networks. This lets us keep the site completely free for students. We never charge application fees, never sell user data, and never put paywalled content behind ‘premium’ tiers. If our work helps you secure a scholarship, please pay it forward share our resources with one other student.
