NL Scholarship 2027

Overview

The NL Scholarship gives students from outside the European Economic Area a EUR 5,000 contribution in the first year of a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at a participating Dutch institution. It is not a full-tuition scholarship. It replaces the Holland Scholarship name, and each institution handles its own applications. For the full list of benefits, see what the scholarship covers.

The 2026-2027 list includes 11 research universities, such as Maastricht University, Utrecht University and Wageningen University & Research, and 23 universities of applied sciences. The list changes every year.

The official page does not give application steps or documents, so read the scholarship page of your institution. To compare other European options, see the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, the Scotland Saltire Scholarship and more Master’s scholarships.

Timeline notes

Each institution sets its own deadline, and no single date applies. The current official page covers 2026-2027 and the participating institutions for the next intake are not yet listed. See the application deadline section for the current status.
